How Partners for Homeownership Works
Founded by a collaborative of local foundations, city and county government, members of the local business community and interested area residents, the Partners for Homeownership takes a collaborative approach to developing affordable housing. The Partners for Homeownership:
· Purchases undeveloped land in the city or county and serves as the developer to install the basic service infrastructure.
· Pride of ownership; Sells these lots to developer partners or qualified individuals who build homes that meet both architectural and pricing guidelines, typically $103,000 to $135,000, established for each neighborhood.
· Has recently begun rehabilitating and selling existing housing. The Partners for Homeownership currently has three new home developments and one rehabilitation projects underway.
· Works with local foundations, city and county government, local businesses and area residents on the funding and financing of these projects.
